Hot Flat and Crowded
Review
Rating: 7
Not as good as his previous book “The world is flat”. This one is a bit repetitive and many passages are more proselytizing than instructive. There are many redundant passages, but overall it is a pretty good book and I’d recommend it. It is very informative and highly relevant. The importance of being eco-minded cannot be understated and there is a need for a comprehensive indication of efforts and an honest indication of which efforts, philosophies and technologies are feasible and scalable.
Overall, it is the usual Friedman book. It is full of resources, stories and anecdotes from the people he interviews. There is a balance between the core issue and how it fits in people’s lives.
My major drawback was how slow of a read it was for me, but it is rewarding to finish those 400-page books.
